I would much appreciate it if AOO would be more helpful during the install process by allowing the TRUE specification of the installation point to be the USERS choice. Linux uses this system as default and it works well.

Above one of you said only a few MB of files go to C: and this is incorrect, least for 4.1.7. ONLY THE INSTALLATION FILES WERE SENT THERE! I found the true install of 328 MB went to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Openoffice 4\". I just did an install of AOO 4.1.7 and on "Custom" installation specified "D:\Openoffice 417" as my install point. The OS drive also does not fragment nearly as badly and all this has nearly eliminated the BSD and other errors and OS slogging.
I have done this for many years, since Win 98, as it helps keep Windows (any version) from gumming up as much as it often does. D: is 450 GB in size and is for programs and files. C: is 45 GB in size and is for my Win 10 OS and tech utils. I also want to install AOO to a different drive.
